Abstract

Sexual harassment is a behavior that is already very normalized in our society, and is carried out in different ways, one of them is sexual harassment in the work environment, and it is particularly very important due to the situation of vulnerability in which it is left to the victim due to this dependency on a job and the subornation that it entails, with this premise thiscrime will be analyzed through criminology and we will have as a reference point the movie “El Escándalo” for narrating a very important real case that occurred in the United States and which allows us to study it from different points, such as proving how much a disorganized environment influences the commission of this crime, if the condition of the victim influences it as a cause that favors harassment, we will also study how harassers learn said behavior, and to the specific case, the harassment of people with a lot of economic power, and in that line of ideas, we will also study how the capitalist system influences, to culminate by highlighting the inefficiency of our punitive system to reduce sexual harassment.
