THE IMPORTANCE OF NOTARIAL AND REGISTRY ACTIVITY IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM
Abstract
A country's legal system relies on trust and legal certainty, supported by figures like notaries and registries, which certify, authenticate, and publicize legal acts and contracts. This essay examines the significance of these activities in contemporary society, emphasizing their contribution to legal order and economic development. It underscores the pivotal role of notaries in validating consent and document integrity, as well as the function of public registries in transparency and legal traffic security. Despite deficiencies in the Peruvian registry system, measures are proposed to enhance its efficiency and transparency, such as the establishment of an independent review body. The importance of notaries' academic training and their role in real estate and corporate transactions are highlighted.
