Abstract

The goal this research was to design and build a modified
Boucherie-type device for the preservation of bamboo, with
characteristics of transportability and affordable cost that
allows horizontal technological transfer to communities in the
Ecuadorian Amazon region. The design of the virtual prototype
was carried out through a prescriptive methodology, using
3D modeling software that then facilitated the preparation of
the list of materials and tools necessary for its assembly; The
prototype was developed with materials available in the area;
Subsequently, performance tests were carried out on different
bamboo culms. As a result, a device was obtained for preserving
bamboo with the modified Boucherie method, which can
be transported with all its components, be used even when
electricity is not available and whose operation was tested
with bamboo culms of the Dendrocalamus asper species. and
Guadua angustifolia Kunth.
