INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the review process of our legal journal. We understand that publishing an academic article is an important step in the education of every law student and researcher. Our goal is to ensure that each publication meets high standards of quality and academic rigor, fostering an enriching and well-founded legal discussion. Below, we clearly and accessibly explain how our review process works and what authors can expect.

1. PRELIMINARY REVIEW

Before being sent to external reviewers, each article undergoes an initial review by a specialist designated by the Editorial Board. This phase verifies that the manuscript meets the formal requirements of the journal, such as structure, citation norms, and thematic relevance. If the article does not meet these criteria, it will be returned to the authors for necessary corrections before proceeding with the process.

2. EXTERNAL PEER REVIEW

To ensure academic quality, each article is evaluated by two external specialists under the "double-blind" system (reviewers do not know the identity of the authors and vice versa). In case of discrepancies between reviewers, a third evaluator is consulted. Some specific texts, such as editorials or tributes, are reviewed only by members of the Editorial Board.

The evaluation results may be:

  • Accepted without modifications: Ready for publication.
  • Accepted with modifications: Minor or major changes are required before acceptance.
  • Rejected: Does not meet publication standards.

No article will be published without having been reviewed and approved by at least two reviewers.

3. COMMUNICATION WITH AUTHORS

Authors can check the status of their manuscript review at any time. The final decision will be communicated along with the reviewers' comments. If corrections are required, authors will have 30 days to submit the revised version. If not received within the stipulated time, the article will be considered a new submission and will return to the waiting list.

4. SELECTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF REVIEWERS

Reviewers are selected based on their specialization, ensuring impartial evaluations free from conflicts of interest.

  • The "double-blind" system is strictly followed to ensure objectivity.
  • Reviewers may accept or decline the evaluation of an article without affecting their relationship with the journal.
  • As recognition, reviewers receive a certificate accrediting their participation in the process.

5. PROCEDURE FOR RESEARCH MISCONDUCT

Our journal adheres to ethical standards in research and scientific publication. In cases of plagiarism, fictitious authorship, data manipulation, or redundant publication, the recommendations of the University's Ethics Committee and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) will be followed.

6. PLAGIARISM DETECTION

All articles are reviewed using Turnitin software. Similarity with other sources must not exceed 15%.

7. PRIVACY STATEMENT

Personal data collected will be used exclusively for journal purposes and will not be shared with third parties.
