Elevación del margen gingival en dientes severamente destruidos: reporte de caso con seguimiento de 18 meses

Resumen

La elevación del margen gingival (EMG) es un tratamiento conservador que consiste en reubicar el margen subgingival llevándole a una posición más supragingival mediante el uso de materiales restauradores. Este estudio describe un caso clínico en el que se realizó un aumento coronario sin colgajo de 1 mm, seguido de la EMG con resina fluida Filtek Supreme Flowable Restorative (3M ESPE, St. Paul, MN, EUA) y resina compuesta Filtek Z350 XT (3M ESPE, St. Paul, MN, EUA)   como procedimiento preendodóntico restaurador; retratamientos endodónticos y cementación de restauraciones indirectas con coberturas parciales de cúspides (onlays) de resina compuesta por técnica adhesiva aplicados en un primer y segundo molares inferiores derechos comprometidos estructuralmente con controles de hasta 18 meses. Se concluye que para este caso se demostró la viabilidad clínica de la EMG en dos dientes multirradiculares, con resultados funcionales y estéticos satisfactorios mantenidos durante un seguimiento de 18 meses.
